Is there anything for beginners and children?
The bike school at the bike park offers riding technique courses (opens an external website) for beginners and advanced riders, as well as a ‘Just for Kids’ programme for children aged approximately 4 to 7, accompanied by a parent. Please enquire at least 48 hours in advance. Children can ride the chairlift on their own from a height of about 140 centimetres.
What protective equipment do we need?
You won’t be allowed on the trails or on the lift without a helmet. A full-face helmet is compulsory for under-18s. The operator strongly recommends a full-face helmet as well as back and knee protectors. All the rules are set out in the Bike Park Code (opens an external website).
What are the rules for e-bikes?
E-bikes can only go on the lift with the battery removed and if they weigh no more than 25 kilograms; you have to hook them onto the lift yourselves. You can charge batteries in lockers with power sockets (opens an external website) on Poststraße in Hahnenklee and, while out riding, at restaurants (opens an external website) displaying the ‘Hier laden Sie auf’ (charge here) sign.
Where can we hire bikes?
Bike park bikes, protective gear and helmets are available from Board’n Bikes (opens an external website) at the valley station of the cable car. Mountain bikes and e-mountain bikes for tours can be hired from the Outdoorcenter Harz in Clausthal-Zellerfeld.
What are the rules in the forest?
